Hope all of you are doing well. We went to Bangalore to my sister's home for the past weekend and had a chance to visit one of Itsy Bitsy's physical store. My son enjoyed shopping with me as well :).
And coming back I really wanted to expand my terrace garden (oh yes, it was the inspiration of the garden city ) and so got myself busy with the same :).
Finally yesterday I managed to do this layout with nautical theme. Since I had this paper from Ciao Bella which has a ship on it, I used the same paper as my base. I used my stencil and home made modelling paste for some texture.
I also used some ornate chipboard borders for the frame where I'm planning to put a picture of my little one. So I added those shells collected by him :) Whenever we visit the beach, we have the habit of collecting shells so I thought this will be the right time to use them.
The net you see below the frame is upcycled from tea stainer. I know so many of you are very good at upcycling, I've just tried! The clock inside the shell heart is upcycled one too.
I've also inked the paper on all the sides.
A tip :
For those of you who really want to look around the house for crafty things first, I have a small tip for sponging with distress inks. I tried with my regular ink applicator first and since I was not very successful, I thought I need to buy sponge daubers. Then this idea struck.
I used a regular face powder sponge which was very soft and it did work out well especially if you want smooth sponging. I've not tried with sponge daubers, I really don't know whether it will equal it. But it will be helpful at least to some extent. Hope it was useful!
